Abstract
This study aimed to estimate the alcohol withdrawal symptoms among alcohol-dependent patients and to explore their association with selected sociodemographic variables. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 30 male alcoholdependent patients, aged predominantly between 25 and 44 years. The prevalence of withdrawal symptoms such as headache (83.3%), tremors (60%), anxiety (50%), and perceptual disturbances was assessed. Statistical analysis revealed no significant association between these withdrawal symptoms and socio-demographic variables including age, marital status, occupation, and duration of alcohol use. These findings suggest that alcohol withdrawal symptoms occur broadly across different demographic groups, emphasizing the need for universal clinical screening and comprehensive management strategies during withdrawal
